Update on March 17

Current students

In light of growing concerns over COVID-19 and in response to Canadian government guidelines, CCEL and Canadian College have transitioned to live online lessons as of today and asked all students and staff members to stay home. It has been a smooth transition and we very much appreciate students for their understanding and cooperation and also for all teachers' tireless effort.

New bookings

We are continuing to accept new bookings but recommend start dates from Monday, May 04 onward.

Postponements

Canada’s Prime Minister has announced that Canada is closing its borders to all foreign travellers to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which means new students will not be able to arrive in Vancouver until further notice.

All future students, regardless of course start date, are welcome to postpone courses without incurring any penalty charges. In the meantime, students are welcome to take our assessment test and join a class online until borders reopen and it is possible for them to safely travel.

Update on March 16

Attention: Worldwide CCEL Agents

I, Lane Clark President of CCEL and Canadian College, am writing to update everyone regarding the recent decisions at CCEL and Canadian College in response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. Currently, all Canadians have been asked by the prime minister, Justin Trudeau, to stay at home to avoid the spread of the virus and flatten the curve to allow our healthcare system to stay ahead.

The management team and I took the necessary decision to close the campuses today, March 16th, and move to an online delivery program. Our instructors are dedicated to the task of delivering our program virtually and are eager to begin classes tomorrow March 17th.

We would like to encourage agents to stay positive and help us support students and their family members. BC is a safe place for students to wait out this unfortunate situation.

If you require our assistance please do not hesitate to contact us. We are all still working regular hours from home and are available. There will be a time in the future when this is behind us, our relationship with you is our priority and you can count us to support you through this unfortunate situation.

Options for starters in March and April (CCEL) Start the program as scheduled and take the lessons online from your country Postpone your start date to any Monday in the future. (No extra charge) Cancel your booking. (Full refund)

Students who have postponed or cancelled the program are welcome to take our online lessons from their country.

Please contact our Marketing Team or email to [email protected] to discuss details.

Thank you for your patience and I will continue to send updates as events unfold.

All the best,

Lane Clark

Update on March 13

Dear Students,

In accordance with the recommendation of the BC Provincial Health Authority, we are urging students who arrive in Canada from March 13 onwards to self-isolate for 14 days before beginning their studies. This is precautionary action in an effort to help slow and prevent the spread of COVID-19. We want to minimize the disruption to studies; however, the health and safety of our students and staff is our priority and we recognize the need for preventive measures.

In an effort to minimize disruption, we are prepared to offer online classes for students who are in self-isolation or too ill to attend, starting Tuesday, March 17. Students who self-isolate for 14 days are also welcome to extend their studies for two weeks without additional charge, if possible.

These are exceptional circumstances and we make these decisions with our students’ best interest at heart.

We thank you for your understanding

Sincerely,

Lane Clark
